Spring Fishing on the Fox River in De Pere, WI

Fox River in De Pere, WI. Walleye Fishing

It’s getting warmer!

Okay, not everyday but the snow has come and gone yet again. And I hope you know what that means? Spring walleye fishing on the Fox River in De Pere is almost upon us.

As of this posting, the docks aren’t in yet. Afterall it is still February. However, the ice has been off the river for quite awhile already with the big February warm up. If it’s above freezing, I’d be happy to get you on the water and get after some trophy potential walleyes.

If you’re willing to fish in the cold before the docks are in I’d be willing to give you a $55 discount on a full day. Why? Because you will have to help me launch the boat and trailer the boat. So maybe a little less time on the water. It will be simple for you. Just hold the rope and don’t let the boat float away.

Plus early spring fishing brings the crowds out because everyone wants fish but there aren’t many options. Deal with the crowds, no docks, and cold hands and I’ll save you some dollars! And if for some reason we don’t put fish in the boat you can always rely on my guarantee. Check out my website for rates and guarantee: https://www.fishingguidewisconsin.com/rates/

A nice De Pere walleye.

How will we fish the Fox? We jig! Vertical jigging is a great way to put fish in the boat. I’ll control the boat with the current and we’ll gently bounce jigs off the boat. When you feel a thunk, set the hook, game on! We can also “anchor” the boat and cast jigs. Bounce them off bottomee as you wind in. When you feel resistance or a thunk, set the hook. Game on!

Of course I’ll teach you the finer ways of jig fishing. It’s simple but not always easy. I’ll flatten the learning curve for you. It’s a really fun way to fish.

I have all the gear, all the bait, and everything you’ll need to catch fish. Please dress appropriately in layers. Have a hat and gloves and I’ll bring hand warmers for you if needed. I have more information on what to bring and what not to bring on my website.
