Guide Fishing on Lake Winnebago

Fishing with Captain Kirk is a safe bet on Lake Winnebago.

Deen with a nice ‘Bago Eye!

Of all the months to fish Lake Winnebago, July offers the most action! White drum to 10 lbs., twelve to twenty inch walleyes, fat whitebass, channel catfish, and even a 4 lb. smallmouth bass, might end up on your line. If you can’t make July then June, August and September still offer great action. Things slow down in October but often that’s when the big walleyes bite.

Although Captain Kirk enjoys targeting walleyes, you just don’t know what you might catch at any given location. The best action day ever was more than 70 fish! Captain Kirk expects to put 20 fish for a 1/2 day and 30 fish for a full 6 hour trip in the boat. It’s called fishing and not catching for the reason that some days the fish just aren’t biting well. Don’t fear, Captain Kirk has a guarantee! No fish in the boat, then you won’t have to pay the balance due.

What can you keep? That’s a good question. You can each keep 3 walleyes (13.5 inches to 19 inches). You can keep as many and any size whitebass and white drum. And you can keep 2 bass that are at least 14 inches. If you happen to catch a channel catfish, you can keep any size you want. If you need Captain Kirk to clean your fish, he will bring everything he needs to make that happen. $3 per fish is the going rate.

Captain Kirk guides one or two people in his deep-V fishing boat. He will take you to shallow waters in search of anything that bites. There are numerous reefs on the west shore of Lake Winnebago and that is where Captain Kirk will take you to cast jigs. Feel the bite, set the hook, that’s fishing!

Captain Kirk guides on Lake Winnebago out of Menasha, Neenah, Oshkosh, and Black Wolf and on rare occasions, Pipe, WI. It all depends on the wind direction and what’s been happening.

Sorry, Captain Dan Kirk doesn’t troll. You’ll get to cast and connect directly to the fish.

Captain Kirk has his United States Coast Guard approved license to guide and safely take people out on the water.
