Fox River – Guide Season is OPEN!

The Boat is OUT!

Fishing has begun for the 2023 open water season. It’s so exciting. I will be guiding on the Fox River in De Pere, WI for at least a couple weeks and hopefully longer. A gradual warm up is great. Too fast and the spawning run will be done quicker. Contact me for the latest information.

I’m Dan Kirk, also known as Captain Kirk. March and April can be really awesome on the water. Of course some days will be better than others but I do expect to put 20 walleyes in the boat between the three of us on a full day trip. Can you get more? Absolutely! Can you get less. Yep. That’s fishing for you.

My first trip with just two of us boated 17 walleyes. The biggest was 21 1/4 inches. Most fish were over 18 inches. Check the video below to get an idea of what you’ll be doing.

Weather changes everything. I’ll tip the odds in your favor as I know what works and how to work it. Bring some warm clothes and dress in layers. I’ll have extra hand warmers if you need any. It’s a good idea to bring a hot beverage to help warm your insides.

You can book a short notice trip with me. Watch for high temps in the upper 30’s or better. Below freezing temps just aren’t fun.
